Perhaps it is because...

Made our (hopefully) last pilgrimage to Ikea yesterday morning. The last large item we needed was a second bookcase to close off the "kitchen" and make it more of a separate room than an extension of the living room. We also got some big display/storage shelves for the walls. All the big stuff will be delvered on Saturday. Hopefully by then I'll have the stuff we don't want posted on ebay and we'll be able to unpack those last 3 boxes.

The first week of work went well. I really like it. Highlights include free lunch on Mondays (for a staff meeting, but we didn't actually have the meeting last week). This past Monday was Indian food - another plus. Despite my anxiety on not being able to do the first project I was handed, which involved lots of ActionScript, I was able to pull it off, and in a shorter time frame than originally anticipated. I feel really comfortable with everyone in the office, and also it's nice to get back to a small business where what I do really affects how the business does. Altho of course this means I also can't write a requisition order for thousands of dollars of software and have it arrive the next week, but there's ups and downs of both corporate behemoths and 15 person web companies.

Other activities of the last week include going to H&M for the first time and finding out it is that great. I took Oliver to the vet on Thursday for what I thought was behavior problems (peeing on the bathmat) but then found out that even though my cat is crazy, he also has either crystals or a UTI and is probably in pain a lot of the time. I feel like such a bad cat owner, even if the vet did say that you can't know without them doing those tests.

And now I should get back to work so I will end this...
